Overview
Acrophobia (the App) is a multiplayer word game developed by JScriptz. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
Information We Collect
Account Information
- Display Name: A username you choose when you first use the App.
- Authentication: If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and name to link your account. You may also use the App anonymously.
Game Data
- Game scores, statistics, win/loss records, and leaderboard rankings.
- In-game chat messages and emoji reactions sent during gameplay.
- Phrases and answers submitted during gameplay rounds.
- Friends list and game invitations.
Device Information
- Push notification tokens (if you enable notifications).
- Anonymous usage analytics via Firebase Analytics.
Purchase Information
- In-app purchase records are processed by Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We do not store your payment information directly.
- Subscription status is managed through RevenueCat.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the multiplayer game experience.
- To display your name and scores to other players during games.
- To maintain leaderboards and game statistics.
- To send push notifications about game invites and events (if enabled).
- To process in-app purchases and manage subscriptions.
- To moderate user-generated content (chat messages, player names, game answers).
- To improve the App through anonymous usage analytics.
User-Generated Content
The App allows users to submit text content including:
- Game answer phrases during rounds
- Chat messages during gameplay
- Display names
All text content is subject to basic profanity filtering. Users can report inappropriate content or block other players through the in-app reporting system.
AI-Generated Content
The App uses artificial intelligence (Claude by Anthropic and OpenAI GPT) to:
- Generate AI opponent answers during gameplay.
- Provide optional AI-powered phrase suggestions to players.
Your game data (letters shown in a round) may be sent to AI service providers to generate content. No personally identifiable information is shared with AI providers.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
Data Retention
- Game room data is automatically deleted 24 hours after a game ends.
- User account data is retained as long as your account exists.
- You can request deletion of your account by contacting us.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including Firebase security rules, encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), and server-side validation to protect your data.
Your Rights
You may:
- Change your display name at any time in the Profile screen.
- Block other players to prevent seeing their messages.
- Report inappropriate content or players.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Disable push notifications through your device settings.
